Yes, you can, but the prayers are believer-focused. You would need to reword them to suit your situation. The declarations will take a lot of faith to declare. One person tried praying the prayers for her spouse who needed healing. He was not a believer. She found it difficult. She persevered with the prayers until the beginning of week five. While the prayers were not as easy to pray, her husband did experience a significant improvement in his health following this time of prayer. Thank you, Lord! Through spending time intentionally praying for healing the Lord stirred up areas in her own heart where He wanted to bring healing. The Lord was working despite the difficulty she had in praying. While the prayers are focused on the believer, God still hears your prayers if you are praying for a person yet to know the saving grace of Jesus. You will be sowing into their eternal health, that of knowing Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

I have prayed for a few of my friends who have had physical problems as well as major depression. The Lord has kept them safe and provided help for them in various ways including counselling and practical help. I believe the prayers that were prayed for these people had a part to play in this.

Yes you can pray these Targeted Prayers for a person with a permanent disability.

However I am cautious about this. I would suggest you seek God about this before you embark on it. Find out what the person (or the parents, if it is a child) want prayer for and pray for that. It may not be total healing, it may be something that if healed would help them in their daily living. Praying like this can build their faith and yours - especially when you see answers to your prayers. Be careful that you don't hound them for updates on their health. Let them be in control of letting you now how they are. In my limited experience of this, some of these people with permanent disabilities have had a lot of well meaning Christians who are zealous to see Jesus do a miracle, come up to them and pray, sometimes inappropriately and in a disrespectful manner. This can leave them with bad experiences about people offering to pray for them. Remember, these precious people are living with a disability and all that means for them. They may have experienced the disappointment of not being healed. Don't question their faith. God is with these people in ways we can't understand. You can pray for any number of people. However, the more people you pray for, the more time it takes to pray.

The important thing is to pray with faith for each person, personally by name.

You will also need to know their health issues so that you can put them under the name of Jesus, as you're led in the prayers to do.

40 days of prayer is 40 days of prayer, even if it takes you 45 days to complete. If you only manage 20 days, then it’s 20 days of prayers that have gone up to our Father in heaven. There is no condemnation.

Rejoice! It is better to pray with a joyful, willing heart than do so out of obligation and guilt.

However, we encourage you to push in and complete the challenge if you can. Weeks 4,5,6 have some powerful prayers and are based on Jesus healing all who came to him.

Keep praying! I prayed for a year before I saw complete healing. I did see small improvements along the way.

Check your own heart. Have you got unforgiveness hidden in your heart against a person or even the person your praying for? If so, ask God to help you deal with it.

Be aware that doubt is the enemy of faith, so check the health of your faith. Ask God to renew and strengthen your faith.

Meditate on the Scriptures given. What is God saying? Keep a journal.

Acknowledge your mustard seed of faith and ask God to grow it so you can pray and declare with boldness.

Make a decision to not let doubt and disappointment enter your mind or heart if you don't see God moving in the way you expect him to.

Choose to celebrate what God is doing in the spiritual realm that you are unaware of.

Remember, every prayer you pray is an invitation for Jesus to touch the person you are praying for with his love and compassion. It might be the prayer that you pray today that releases the breakthrough.

Give thanks that God has heard your prayers and that he is answering your prayers. Find Scriptures to remind yourself of this truth and declare them. This will counteract the doubt that wants to take over your mind.

My advice is to get tested and examined by a medical doctor to confirm the healing before stopping your medication.
